Autumn Reading List

For those of you who don't know me personally, I'll start off by saying I'm a very active reader. As a kid, I used to read books in their entirety for fun in a short twenty four hours. I'd say this was one of the smartest challenges I set for myself during my childhood years. If I had my nose in a good book, you know the agenda for the deal was real!

To celebrate the very first day of fall, we're jumping right in with simple reading guide for autumn. I bet if you continue to read on, this list will capture your attention and get the inspiration to grab a hold of new book or an old favorite.

Let's make this a fun experience and chat about what's on your reading list or maybe even a short review of your favorite book! I'm so excited to hear from you in the comments! Grab another sip of your coffee and let's get into this!

1. She's Still There By Chrystal Evans Hurst
I'm currently six chapters into this aw- inspiring read. To me, it's a breath of fresh air right into the season of my life. Every chance I get to flip a page, I find myself relating with the author in every detail. With such an escalating pace of society, I find it easier and easier as years go by to slip away from the women I desire to be. Getting lost somewhere in the middle. Chrystal shares her secret to making your life one you love even if your story has gotten messy along the way. It's the perfect book to recognize the girl in you, renewing your sense of hope and purpose to do what you were created for.

2. Uninvited By Lysa TerKeurst
This is a gem I've been eagerly waiting to get my hands on. A gift from my husband from this past Christmas left me with all the feels. Lysa happens to be my absolute favorite author and I would recommend any of her work. The book Uninvited, is a confidence refresher in releasing desires to control other peoples actions and an insight on a way out of feeling set aside. A chance to end the cycle of the rejection we have let enter the deepest parts of our hearts. The fact that the cover is really cute too is another plus in my book! Pun definitely intended.

3. The Magnolia Story By Chip And Joanna Gaines
My favorite dynamic duo of the generation have added yet another success to their many incredible achievements and of course I'm jumping on this band wagon to read their next big hit (well after I get my hands on the book, right?). Through the words of this nonfiction biography, we get to experience a front row into their lives. It didn't catch me by surprise that this book tops off at a 4.2 out of 5 stars review. As one of the most inspiring people I've come across modern on television today, I'm excited to dive into the narration of this couples' story.

4. The Five Love Languages By Gary Chapman
As a somewhat new wifey, I cannot put this book down! No wonder it's a #1 New York Best Times seller! I'll be the first to admit, we all need a little extra dose of learning in the love department. How to show and receive adoration from our husbands or wives is the answer we can find ourselves searching for our entire lives. Rather, why not just spend an afternoon, huddled in blankets as the crisp fall air brushes against the oak trees; beautiful in stature and leaves of vibrant colors as our eyes skim past each word written by Gary Chapman. I'll be the first to confess, I really wouldn't mind holding a home made pumpkin latte in the other hand either. The insightful truths and relevance of this story will never go out of style. Actionable wisdom that works is nothing to be messed with.

5. Anxious For Nothing By Max Lucado
To say I'm looking forward for this book would be an understatement. As a young adult, I began to uncove symptoms of anxiety building up in my heart and mind. Although I may have struggled, it's comforting to know that what we experience is not done alone. Taking back the control of our minds and lives is crucial. Anxiousness will not win at the end of the day and I'm prepping now to embark on the journey to find true freedom and more joy as I cling to the scripture found in Philippians 4:6-7.
